Process data collected in the manufacturing industry provides various challenges. Datasets contain complex, heterogeneous structures with many different quantities. Datasets also, usually, are of quite a large size. Making this data accessible and ready for interpretation is still a challenging task. Johanna has shown use-cases where visual analytics methods have been successfully applied to understand better process data at RHI Magnesita and Austrian Power Grid. In addition, she talked about the lessons learned and future topics.
Johanna is the head of research unit Visual Analytics at VRVis. She is a computer scientist with a Ph.D. in data visualization, currently applying her knowledge to large manufacturing data.
